Guns for Hire, an expansion for La Cosa Nostra , contains 25 new Gangster cards and 5 new Influence cards. The new gangsters are based on international gangs such as the Yakuza, the Mara, and the Russian mafia.

There are five new factions: 
- The Bloody Crips specialize in completing jobs and making money 
- The Bad Hombres deliver stronger attacks against other players 
- The Yakuza focuses on developing its business 
- The Outlaws are better equipped to defend against attacks 
- The Eastern Droogs have more options for actions during the game
